PEGI CLASSES
The Pan-European Game Information (PEGI) age rating system was established to help European parents make informed decisions on buying computer games. The system is supported by the major console manufacturers, including Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo, as well as by publishers and developers of interactive games throughout Europe. The age rating system was developed by the Interactive Software Federation of Europe (ISFE) and is used in 30+ European countries.

PGR CLASSES
Paramount Games Rental categories are ONLY advisory and have been created to make classifying games easier. The exception to PGR's advisory system is KIDS which adheres strictly to PEGI recommendations.
ACTION Game characters are physically active
Includes combat / fighting
ADVENTURE Game characters are mentally active
Includes mysteries / discovery
KIDS Games are both suitable & entertaining for 3 to 7 years old
OTHER Games which don't fit into other PGR categories
PLATFORM 2 dimensional games
PUZZLE Games that involve guessing or working things out
RACING Usually involves motor driven vehicles
RPG Role-playing games including MMORPG
SANDBOX Game 'world' is exclusive to the game and limited
NOT Open World
SHOOTER First and third person shooters
SIMULATION Game simulates a 'real world' activity or event
SPORT All video games concerning sport except motor racing
STRATEGY Gameplay requires planning building & resources
